I was a Brownie and then a Guide, but it was when I joined Sea Rangers that I really started enjoying being part of Girlguiding. Sea Rangers gave me many opportunities for adventure and friendship outside family and school. When I left home to start work at the other end of the country, I volunteered as a guide leader and found a ready-made group of new friends.
My favourite thing about Girlguiding is:
Being able to give the next generation opportunities for fun and friendship in the same way I had when growing up. I have been to Canada, Mexico and Ireland on International adventures, and on the staff team at large-scale events in the UK. After completing my term as county commissioner, I was asked to be the chair for Anglesey Guide Centre Lligwy and it's wonderful to see so many groups staying there and having fun.
